Wake County parents can learn about the school district's student discipline policies at a free seminar Saturday.This seminar will include information on Wake's suspension data, the greatest causes for suspensions, the appeal process and the impact suspensions have on students dropping out and not being promoted. Victoria Curtis, the Wake school system's senior director for student due process, will be the featured speaker.The seminar will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the Wake County Commons Building, 4011 Carya Drive, Raleigh. It is sponsored by the Coalition of Concerned Citizens for African-American Children.Registration for the event is requested at www.cccaac.com. Call 231-9057 for more information.
