RALEIGH - The Wake County school district announced Thursday the dates and locations for three community meetings that will be held before the student reassignment plan is released.

Meetings will be held Nov. 20 at Leesville Road High School, 8409 Leesville Road, Raleigh; Nov. 27 at Knightdale High School, 100 Bryan Chalk Lane; and Nov. 30 at Middle Creek High School, 123 Middle Creek Park Ave., Apex.

All meetings are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and last two hours.

School administrators will share information that is being used to build schools and assign students. Attendees will be able to provide input into the new plans.

After the meetings, a draft reassignment plan will be released at 5 p.m. Dec. 8 on the school district's Web site. People will be able to provide comments on the draft until 5 p.m. Jan. 2.

Administrators will take the feedback and present an official plan to the school board Jan. 9. After public hearings and work sessions, the board will vote on the plan Feb. 6.

Administrators have said they expect the plan to be smaller than the one that moved a record 9,307 students this fall.
