Five Points streets to close for funeral

RALEIGH - Two streets in the Five Points area of Raleigh will be closed from about 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. today to accommodate the funeral of the late U.S. Sen. Jesse Helms.

White Oak Road and Whitaker Mill Road will be closed between Glenwood Avenue and Sunset Drive.

Police will set up a detour route for Whitaker Mill Road.

Motorists may want to avoid the area.
