Wake clinics offer H1N1 vaccine

close xRALEIGH -- Wake County children can get H1N1 flu vaccine Saturday at three different sites.
Vaccination clinics will be held at the county public health clinic at 10 Sunnybrook Road, the Northern Regional Center on East Holding Avenue in Wake Forest, and Apex High School on Laura Duncan Road in Apex.
All will run from 9 a.m. to 4p.m. while supplies last.
Most vaccines will be given as nasal mist, but shots also will be available for people in some high-risk categories.
Those eligible for the nasal mist include healthy young people ages 2 to 24, caregivers of babies younger than 2, and health workers who come in contact with people at high risk of developing severe flu.
Shots are reserved for pregnant women, children 6 months to 2 years old, and people younger than 64 who have chronic health conditions or a weakened immune system.
