Bail bondsman shot in melee near home

BENSON - Benson police are investigating a shooting Monday night that injured a bail bondsman.

Tony Barnes, 54, was shot in the head by a family member during an altercation among several people, according to a news release from police.

Police would not release any further information about the incident.

The shooting occurred at 702 W. Parrish Drive. Barnes' home address is listed as 700 W. Parrish Drive.

Barnes was in critical condition early Tuesday morning, police said.
