An 8-year-old boy was recovering from non-life threatening injuries at Duke Hospital Tuesday afternoon after another child shot him in the face using a bow and arrow, according to Cary police.
Three minors were playing in a yard at 2811 Cameron Pond Drive when the incident occurred at about 4 p.m., said Cary police Capt. Randall Rhyne. The 8-year-old boy was struck near his eye, Rhyne said.
It’s unclear whether police plan to file charges.
“We are continuing the investigation into exactly what happened,” Rhyne said.
Rhyne said the weapon was described to him as a “training” bow.
Other details of the incident, such as what the arrow was made of, weren’t immediately available.
