The College Foundation of North Carolina will host a FAFSA Day this weekend. College financial aid officers will be available at 42 locations across North Carolina from 9 a.m. to noon (9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Charlotte) Saturday to help students and families complete and submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, forms.
In Durham, the session will be held in the School of Education at N.C. Central University. In Raleigh, it will be in the Science and Math building atrium at Meredith College.
Bring the student's and parents' federal 1040 tax forms. For more information and other locations, go to www.CFNC.org/fafsaday.
Gen and Kelly Tanabe, authors of "Get Free Cash for College," said that there are nearly a million college students who qualify for federal aid each year but don't get it because they do not apply. The application can be found in your school's guidance office, at public libraries and at fafsa.ed.gov.
