In the market for a new vehicle?
How about a 1989 FBI surveillance van?
There’s one for sale in Cary on eBay, and at just 23,500 miles in nearly three decades, it might just be a steal.
The van, which was at $10,100 with 26 bids on Thursday, is a 1989 Dodge Ram 350, a “classic FBI surveillance van.”
Never miss a local story.
Four days were left for the auction as of Thursday.
The van includes two LCD screens, two DVD players, radar surveillance equipment, an intercom system, propane gas, a toilet, recorders, tape players, air conditioning and heat in the back, extra locks on the doors, three extra batteries and “lots of other awesome gadgets.”
The van also comes with proof that it once once owned by the FBI and with manuals for the gadgets inside. There also are surveillance tapes and notebooks from when the van was used by the FBI.
“Definitely a one-of-a-kind toy! Type of toy to be in a museum,” seller “Johnn.Chubb” wrote in the eBay post description. The seller said he purchased the van from a government auction, adding that it was used for federal drug investigations.
