Town Square concert
Idlewild South, an Allman Brothers tribute band, will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, on Town Square, 110 W. Main St., Clayton. The concert is free. Bring a lawn chair but no coolers. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
Music for lunch
Baritone Joshua Joyner of Four Oaks will perform when Music for the Lunch Bunch continues at 12:15 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 215 S. Third St., Smithfield. Admission is free. Joyner is a graduate of the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University, where he received a degree in music performance with a concentration in sacred music. His baritone voice led him to roles with the Appalachian State Opera. A graduate of South Johnston High School, Joyner began his vocal studies with Julie Stewart of Clayton. Variety show in Selma

Drawing for adults
The Clayton Parks and Recreation Department will offer a drawing class for adults. A morning session will begin Sept. 15 and will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays. An evening session, also starting Sept. 15, will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays. The cost is $40 for Clayton residents and $55 for nonresidents. For more information, call 919-553-1550.
Art Faire seeks entries
The 17th annual Art Faire in Clayton is seeking entries. The competition will award six prizes in two categories – fine arts and photography. The deadline to enter is Aug. 24, Entries will go on display at The Clayton Center in September. The entry fee is $25 for members of Clayton Visual Arts and $40 for all others. Sundown in Benson
Jim Quick and the Coastline Band will perform at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, in the Singing Grove on Main Street in downtown Benson. The concert is free. In case of rain, the music will move to the American Legion Building, 605 N. Wall St.
