Benefit golf tournaments
A golf tournament to benefit Burnell Baptist Church programs is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at Reedy Creek Golf Course near Four Oaks. The entry fee is $60 per person. A golf tournament to benefit Clayton Area Ministries will tee off at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at Pine Hollow Golf Club, 3300 East Garner Road, Clayton. Starting Sept. 13, Grace Episcopal Church will offer “Deep Blue,” an interactive Sunday School program for children. The program will meet at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Also on Sept. 13, adults at Grace Episcopal will begin a five-week introduction to the New Testament. The church will serve Communion at 10:30 a.m. that Sunday. A potluck lunch will follow the service. Grace Episcopal is seeking volunteers for its after-school tutoring program, which meets from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
