Valetine’s Day pottery
A pottery class for children ages 6-14 is scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Smithfield Recreation and Aquatics Center, 600 Booker Dairy Road, Smithfield. Chorale seeking voices
The Johnston County Chorale is seeking voices for its spring show, “Best of Broadway.” Through Jan. 25, registration is from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays at First Baptist Church, 202 S. Fourth St., Smithfield. The chorale welcomes high school students and adults; no audition is required. The registration fee is $35 for adults and $25 for students. ‘Benson’s Got Talent’
The Benson Foundation for the Arts will present “Benson’s Got Talent” at 7 p.m. Jan. 22-23 in the W.G. Barefoot Auditorium, 303 E. Church St., Benson. Watercolors at JCC

New book recounts a year in Vietnam
