RailHawks owner Aaron Davidson indicted in FIFA soccer corruption case

Carolina RailHawks owner Aaron Davidson is one of 14 world soccer figures indicted by the Justice Department in connection with an investigation of racketeering conspiracy, bribery and fraud. The case will have aftershocks in Cary.


Wake County not converting Brier Creek Elementary’s calendar

Citing community opposition, Wake County school administrators reversed course on a plan to convert Brier Creek Elementary School in northwest Raleigh to a traditional calendar. Administrators still want to study converting three western Wake year-round schools – Highcroft Drive Elementary, Salem Elementary and Salem Middle.
