Crews are expected to begin work in the intersection of Chatham and Academy streets on May 16 in downtown Cary. All four access points to the intersection will close at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and all day Saturday. Crews will reopen the intersection to traffic at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday and Sunday.
The 23rd annual Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival will kick off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 30. Spring Daze features 175 North Carolina artists who have been selected to show off and sell their wares, as well as entertainment, food and more.
As part of its efforts to spruce up its downtown and make it more pedestrian- and development-friendly, Fuquay-Varina is in the midst of efforts to remove trees that lined Main Street for decades and replace them with a variety of new ones.
Fuquay-Varina approved a rezoning petition in late 2013 to allow a proposed mixed-use development. The town announced Monday that the project’s developer, Kenney Development, has said it’s ready to start work on the $50 million project.
