Crews are expected to begin work in the intersection of Chatham and Academy streets on May 16 in downtown Cary. All four access points to the intersection will close at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and all day Saturday. Crews will reopen the intersection to traffic at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday and Sunday.
The 23rd annual Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival will kick off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 30. Spring Daze features 175 North Carolina artists who have been selected to show off and sell their wares, as well as entertainment, food and more.
The Walker Street Road extension would extend Walker Street about 1,200 feet north from Cedar Street to Chapel Hill Road. The road would pass under the railroad tracks via a tunnel, and a roundabout would connect Walker Street to Wilkinson Avenue and East Durham Road.
Construction began on a new Triangle Expressway interchange on April 4. It will provide access to Old Holly Springs-Apex Road and the proposed Veridea project. The interchange is expect to open mid-December.
Leesville Road’s Doc Redman carried home a golf bag over his shoulder and championship plaque under his arm from The Neuse Golf Club. About the only thing the senior left behind was the course record of 62.
