Police held an information checkpoint Tuesday night at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Queen Elizabeth Road as part of its investigation into a reported hit-and-run last week.

A 17-year-old boy on a bicycle was hit and severely injured at that intersection about 9 p.m. Thursday. The teen’s name has not been released.

The vehicle involved is likely a 2000 to 2005 Chevrolet Suburban with damage to its front and right panels and possibly to its windshield, police say. It may also be missing a fog light.

The goal of Tuesday’s checkpoint was to increase community awareness of the incident by speaking to drivers who regularly travel the area during the time of night it occurred and to learn what they may know. Results were not immediately available.
