So the weather outside wasn’t, ahem, delightful on Saturday. But that didn’t stop hundreds of people over the weekend from ushering in the season with tree lightings, parades, spending time with Santa along with a visit from some very popular Disney princesses.
In Fuquay-Varina, a long line stretched around Centennial Square as children waited to tell Santa Claus the top items on their wish lists. The patient kids also had their pictures taken with Elsa and Anna of “Frozen.” The event included a singalong of “Frozen” tunes, which by now, parents and kids know by heart. In Apex, a steady drizzle fell during the Christmas on Salem Street activities, held downtown throughout the day. Still, residents lined the streets with umbrellas in hand as the parade rolled through town.
