Cary gave away saplings and invited the community to learn more about trees during an Arbor Day celebration at Town Hall on Saturday.

Mayor Harold Weinbrecht thanked the 7,000 volunteers with the town’s Spruce program who have helped clean up litter and plant more than 13,000 trees in recent years.

The National Arbor Day Foundation named Cary a Tree City USA for the 31st time this year.
