The Town Council has unanimously agreed to give a $375,000 economic development incentive grant to Novozymes, which plans to hire 100 people at a new R&D facility in town.
The Danish company, a developer of industrial enzymes, plans a facility where scientists will work to boost the ability of farm crops to fight off pests and tolerate droughts.
Novozymes could qualify for as much as $2.3 million in state and local incentives, including grants and tax breaks, if it meets hiring goals and invests at least $36 million in the Cary facility.
