Cary power outage affects about 1,200 for several hours, Progress says

Progress Energy crews restored power to 1,184 customers in Cary after an outage of several hours Friday morning.

Progress Energy crews Friday morning restored power to 1,184 customers who lost electric service for several hours.

The company’s outage information website said customers lost power about 7:15 a.m.

By 11:30 a.m., Progress was reporting 111 customers without power in scattered locations in Wake County.

Cary police said they had received reports of a power surge Friday morning, but there had been no accidents affecting power lines.
