Town Manager Sean Stegall has hired a former member of his staff from Elgin, Ill., to work for him in Cary, the town announced Monday.
Dan Ault will be Cary’s next Assistant Town Manager and Chief Innovation Officer. He has been an organizational development coordinator in Elgin and reported to Stegall from 2008 until August, when Stegall moved to Cary.
Ault, 31, fills a vacancy left by former Assistant Town Manager Tim Bailey, who retired at the end of August after nearly 30 years with the town. Ault will begin his role on Dec. 12 after relocating to Cary with his family. His salary will be $155,000.
“Opportunities to work with and learn from the nationally renowned Cary team are incredibly rare,” Ault said in a news release. “I’m honored to join such a tremendous group of people.”
Never miss a local story.
In his role as Elgin’s organizational development coordinator, Ault was responsible for working with all city departments to improve efficiency and effectiveness, according to a news release.
Ault is a native of Green Bay, Wisc., and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point as well as a master’s in public administration from Northern Illinois University.
“The areas and technology and organizational change management will be critical to our continued success,” Stegall said in the news release. “Dan’s knowledge, skills and successes in these areas will complement the talents found throughout our leadership team and organization, and I’m grateful for his willingness to serve the citizens of Cary.”
