A man remained in critical condition Sunday afternoon after crashing an SUV into a Cary home earlier in the day.
William Rafael Garcia was transported to WakeMed after the Chevy HHR he was driving ran off the road and crashed into a home on the 100 block of Honeysuckle Lane around 12:20 a.m., said Cary Police Lt. Greg Savage.
No one was in the house, which is a rental, at the time, Savage said. Savage didn’t know whether someone lives at the home, or the renter was away at the time of the crash.
High speed was a factor in the crash, Savage said, and police don’t suspect alcohol was involved at this time. As of Sunday afternoon, Savage said, the SUV remained in the home as officials wanted to seek the services of a structural engineer before it was moved.
Savage said Garcia had a Cary address, but wasn’t sure whether he lived in Cary.
