Northeast Maynard Road is closed between Chapel Hill Road and East Chatham Street Wednesday and Thursday as railroad crews shift their work to another intersection.
Drivers will be detoured from 5 a.m. March 16 through 9 p.m. March 17. Crews are working to make improvements to the crossing and tracks. They will raise a Norfolk Southern rail line at the crossing to make it level with an adjoining CSX rail line, according to a news release. On Thursday, NCDOT crews will resurface the crossing area.
The work comes after North Harrison Avenue was closed Monday and Tuesday in downtown Cary for similar repairs.
Signs will guide drivers to detours along Chatham Street, Harrison Avenue and N.C. 54.
Passengers who take C-Tran Routes 1, 2, and 6 may experience delays, but all stops will be served.
