Publix’s second location in the Triangle will open May 25 – a year and a half after the grocer first arrived in the Triangle.
The new store will be at Millpond Village, 3480 Kildaire Farm Road, Cary. The store opens at 7 a.m.
A company spokeswoman said Publix will employ 125 to 150 people.
Florida-based Publix Super Markets announced about a year ago that it would buy two closed Lowes Foods stores, including the one at Millpond Village.
Never miss a local story.
The first Triangle Publix opened in Cary in the Bradford shopping center, a 41-acre mixed-use center at Davis Drive and High House Road. Others are set to open in Apex in 2017 at Olive Chapel Road and Kelly Road and a new shopping center in Wake Forest.
Meanwhile, the Cary Town Council will consider rezoning a 21-acre property in western Cary at an upcoming meeting to allow for a proposed Publix-anchored shopping center.
