Cary Girl Scout earns Gold Award

Alyssa Xouris of Cary, a member of Girl Scout Troop 1761 led by Cheryl Olive, earned the Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. For her project, “Holy Trinity: Book of Reflections,” she documented the history of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Raleigh. She interviewed parishioners and wrote and published a 60-page book on the church. She donated 40 copies of the book to the church and sent copies to nearby Greek Orthodox churches to encourage them to make similar projects. Xouris is a graduate of Green Hope High School and the daughter of Andia and George Xouris.
