Abbe Elizabeth Lewis and Christopher Robert Baker, both of New York City, were married October 4, 2014 at 4:00pm at The Surf Club in Wrightsville Beach. Friend of the couple, Mr. Michael Ahern, officiated the ceremony. A reception was held at The Surf Club immediately following the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Lewis of Cary. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Robert Sprague, Ms. Ruth Mary Wilcox, and Mr. Lionel Lewis of Binghamton, New York, and Jessie Lewis of Fort Mill, South Carolina.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Marchant of Tampa, Florida, Mrs. Christine Baker and the late Mr. Bruce Baker of Vienna, Virginia. He is the grandson of Ms. Phyllis Recht and the late Mr. Robert Baker of Granby, Connecticut, and Ms. Nancy Cornelssen and the late Mr. Robert Cornelssen of Venice, Florida.
Mrs. Amber Jean Hacker of Takoma Park, Maryland was Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Amanda Walker and Miss Claire Walsh of New York City; Mrs. Danielle DeYoung of Christiansburg, Virginia; Miss Lindsay Warren and Mrs. Katie Meyers of Raleigh.
Mr. Philip Baker and Mr. Jeffrey Baker, brothers of the groom, were best men. The groomsmen were Mr. Robert Lewis of Asheville, brother of the bride; Mr. Alexander Wissel of Baltimore, Maryland; Mr. Todd Doyle of Mamaroneck, New York.
The pianist was Mr. William Baker, uncle of the groom, of Roseland, New Jersey.
The bride graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School and East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She was presented at the Cary Debutante Ball and National Debutante Ball in Washington, DC. She also graduated from the International Culinary Center (formerly the French Culinary Institute) with a grand diplôme in classic culinary arts.
The groom graduated from Herndon High School in Herndon, Virginia, and Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore with a degree in graphic design. The groom is employed by Rolex Watch, USA.
After their honeymoon trip to Tahiti, the couple resides in New York City.
