Art quilt exhibit
The Professional Art Quilters Alliance-South will present its annual exhibit, ARTQUILTS freezeframe, from Thursday, Sept. 26, to Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center, 111 Ambassador Loop, Cary. A reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27. The exhibit features works by artists inspired by photography.

Floral run-and-drip painting class
Allen Montague will teach students 12 and older to use his run-and-drip painting technique from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Southern Charm Gift Boutique in Cary Towne Center, 1105 Walnut St., Cary. Brass at Bond
Brass ensembles from throughout North Carolina will play a free concert at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, in Bond Park, 801 High House Road, Cary.
The Free Spirits Ensemble concert
The Free Spirits Ensemble of the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra will play music by Canadian composer Elizabeth Raum in tribute to Cary’s sister city, Markham, Canada, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center, 119 Ambassador Loop. Auditions for ‘A Christmas Story’
Cary Players Community Theatre Company will hold auditions for “A Christmas Story” by Jean Shepherd on Monday, Sept. 30, at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center, 119 Ambassador Loop, and on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Cary Arts Center, 101 Dry Ave. Auditions for ages 5 to 7 will be at 6:45 p.m.; kids 8 and older at 7:15 p.m.; and adults at 8:15 p.m. For details, go to www.caryplayers.org.

Latin Night with Orquesta GarDel
Cary’s Seven O’Clock Rock series will feature Latin Night with a free dance lesson at 7 p.m. and a free concert by Orquesta GarDel at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at the corner of Academy and Chatham streets in downtown Cary.
