Barnes & Noble hosts story time for preschoolers at 10 a.m. Wednesdays at 760 SE Maynard Road, Cary.

Senior Bingo

Holly Springs will host Bingo games for seniors from 1-3 p.m. at Bass Lake Park, 900 Bass Lake Road. Bingo cards cost $1. There are cash prizes of up to $10.

Senior Game Day

Fuquay-Varina residents age 55 and older will play board games at 1 p.m. at the Fuquay-Varina Community Center, 820 S. Main St.

Parent Chat session

Wake County school board member Bill Fletcher will host a Parent Chat session in which parents can talk with him about school issues at 1 p.m. at the Cary Chamber of Commerce, 307 N. Academy St.

Exhibition opening

The Umstead Art Gallery will host a reception for painter and printmaker Peter Roux’s new exhibit from 6-8 p.m. at The Umstead Hotel and Spa, 100 Woodland Pond Drive, Cary. Roux’s work will be displayed through Saturday, May 31. For details, go to www.theumstead.com.
