Local Girl Scouts earn Silver Awards
Gabrielle Carlin of Apex, a member of Girl Scout Troop 1379 led by Susie Childers and Pamela Haley, earned the Silver Award, the second highest achievement in Girl Scouting. For her project, she made games for children participating in the Horse and Buddy therapeutic riding program and built horse jumps for the Tant Training Center. Gabrielle is the daughter of John and Diane Carlin.
Cara King of Apex, a member of Girl Scout Troop 15 led by Haley Gray, earned the Silver Award. She made eight new games for the Horse and Buddy therapeutic riding program. Cara is the daughter of Adam and Candi King.
Jenna Pedersen of Apex, a member of Girl Scout Troop 15 led by Haley Gray, earned the Silver Award. She worked with Duke Hospital to promote Camp Kaleidoscope for pediatric patients and a camp for their siblings. Jenna made advertisements including a poster, fliers and cards. Jenna is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Pedersen.
Alyssa Schoaff of Apex, a member of Girl Scout Troop 15 led by Haley Gray, earned the Silver Award. She worked with Rescue Ur Forever Friend to collect pet care supply donations. She also knitted blankets for animals and sewed cat beds and toys. Alyssa is the daughter of Peter and Christine Schoaff.
Hannah Stone of Cary, a member of Girl Scout Troop 15 led by Haley Gray, earned the Silver Award. She built a hammock and ramp for Cheyenne, a caracal, and a catwalk for Petee, an ocelot, at Carolina Tiger Rescue. Hannah is the daughter of David and Catherine Stone.
