“Isn’t It Romantic”
The Cary Players opens its season with the Wendy Wasserstein play “Isn’t It Romantic” Sept. 27, and Oct. 2-4, at the Cary Arts Center, 101 Dry Ave. The humorous play is about two women juggling New York, friends and romance. Times and ticket prices vary. caryplayers.org.
Lenore Raphael, Howard Paul, Jason Foureman and Peter Ingram will play in a JazzLive concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Halle Cultural Arts Center, 237 N. Salem St., Apex. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for ages 18 and younger.
Paint the Page
The Young Friends of the Page-Walker group invites ages 14-18 to paint, draw or sketch the Page-Walker Arts & History Center from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at 119 Ambassador Loop, Cary. Register online: friendsofpagewalker.org.

N.C. State Fiction Contest
