Craft and vendor fair
The International Travel Girl Scout troop for North Carolina Coastal Pines is hosting a craft and vendor fair from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at the Apex Chamber of Commerce building, 220 N. Salem St. More than 30 vendors will be featured.
Horse Hugs fundraiser
Horse Hugs, a miniature horse visitation and rescue, is holding an open house fundraiser from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at 3813 Sparrow Pond Lane, Raleigh. Tickets at the door are $10 per person, $35 per family. Canceled if raining.
Kids Together party
The special needs-accessible Kids Together Playground at Marla Dorrel Park celebrates its birthday with a free party from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at the picnic shelter at the park, 111 Thurston Drive, Cary. Race for the Cure
The 20th annual Susan G. Komen Triangle Race for the Cure begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at The Frontier, 800 Park Offices Drive, Research Triangle Park. The event, which raises funds and awareness for breast health programs, also will feature live music, a cancer survivor celebration, games and food trucks. Great Railway Chase
New Hope Valley Railway will present The Great Railway Chase at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at the rail yard, 3900 Bonsal Road, New Hill. Costumed soldiers will recreate the Civil War battle throughout the day.

Jump rope camps
Registration is under way for summer camps sponsored by the Apex Skip-Its jump rope team. The first camp will be from 8:30-11:30 a.m. July 25-29. The second camp will be from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Aug. 1-5.
