Doris Tyson White, 83, of Cary passed away Friday, August 1, 2014, at Transitions LifeCare William M. Dunlap Center for Caring in Raleigh.
She was born August 4, 1930 in Cary (Tysonville), a daughter of William A. and Lucy Neville Tyson. She married William “Bill” Arthur White on October 14, 1950. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Surviving are two sons, William “Brian” (Patricia) White of Apex, Charles E. (Sandra) White of Cary; sister, Ethel Mae Patrick; grandchildren, Kimberly (Timothy) Royal and William Christopher White; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Grady, and Bailey Royal; and her personal aide and devoted friend, Sharon Terry Renn.
Mrs. White was the Secretary and Treasurer of Carolina Stone Setting Company for over 50 years. She was a long time active member of the North Carolina Horseless Carriage club, and Triangle Chapter AACA. She was lifetime Cary resident and graduated from Cary High School with the class of 1948.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Cary. Dr. Steven Rumley will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Cary immediately following the service.
