Barbara Elaine Williams died peacefully on Saturday, February 16 at her home in Cary. She is survived by her two sons, Andrew and Charlie Williams, as well as her brother, Robert Weir, her sister, Sue Denson, and her niece, Wendy MacIntyre.
Barbara was born in 1948 in Johnson City, NY. She attended Edgewater High School in Orlando, FL and graduated from the University of South Florida. Throughout her life, she worked as a social worker, mother, and in her later years, administrator of the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy.
In each of her roles in life, she left a legacy of friendship, laughter, and love. She was also an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Raleigh.
Memorial services will be at First Presbyterian Church at 1:30 pm on February 28, 2013, with visitation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 112 S. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27601 or to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
