On October 29, 2015, Larry became pain free and entered the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Larry was born to Lee Roy Hamilton and Annie Alice Harrison Hamilton. He had seven brothers and sisters, of which, he was the baby. He also had an extended family, on his mother's side, of many Woodall relatives, since his Grandmother was a Woodall. Larry attended Swift Creek Elementary and Cary High School, where he played football and baseball. He graduated from Cary in 1962. He went on to obtain a Bookkeeping Degree from Sandhills Community College. But, Larry's love was music. He would have his friends over and they would play their guitars for hours. Larry and a few friends started the band 'Laryat Sam' in the '70's. This band became well known in the Triad area. Larry continued to write songs and decided to move to Nashville, TN to get his songs heard. He had several Blue Grass songs that made the charts and one that topped the charts. In fact, Cary's own Blue Grass band, 'The Grass Cats,' in which one of its members, Tim Woodall, is Larry's cousin, have recorded one of Larry's songs on their CD, "I Know It's Not Me." After a few years, Larry moved back to Cary and established roots once again. Larry eventually joined his brother, Sam, in several business ventures. Sam and Larry would continue to work together until recently. Larry was predeceased by his mother and father, Lee Roy and Annie Alice Hamilton, his sister, Elizabeth Gentry and her husband, Aaron, and his sister, Brenda Hunter and her husband, Dick. Larry is survived by his son, Chad, who is a Park Ranger in Washington, his brothers, Bobby (Billie), Tom (Sandra), Sam (Kay) and Wesley (Barbara) and his sister Betsy Branch (Herbert). Larry also has many nieces, nephews and extended Woodall cousins who loved him dearly.A Memorial will be held at a later date. According to Larry's wishes, his ashes will be scattered at Wrightsville Beach, also at a later date.
