Ruth and Roland Tripp: Bathroom break

A recent Cary was event was perfect. Only one problem: Where were the porta-potties?

Bathroom break

As 35-year residents of Cary, we have enjoyed the town-sponsored musical programs at the Page-Walker House, the new entertainment stage at the corner of Academy Street and Kildaire Farm Road and the recent Friday evening music and dancing downtown at Chatham and Academy streets.

That was an excellent event, with people of all ages attending. The wonderful band Peak City Sound played a great variety of songs to please everyone. The weather was perfect, and a good time was had by all.

Only one problem: Where were the porta-potties? We finally asked a police officer, and he said to go to Ashworth Drugs or The Cary theater.

We chose Ashworth, as it was close to where we were sitting. We thanked Mr. Ashworth but said it wasn’t fair for him to have to accommodate all those people in attendance.

Next time we hope there will be porta-potties as in the past. We hope to see more of this type of family events.
