Regarding the Aug. 10 article “Cary, home of technology and – movies?”: I agree wholeheartedly that the movie industry is an important artistic pursuit which should prosper in Cary. The town is already home to art centers and music presentations.
Downtown Cary, where I volunteer as an usher at The Cary theater, is filled with boutique shops and international stores. It is like walking down memory lane in Small Town USA. The theater is great, with a small-town atmosphere and a retro flavor. Cary is fast becoming like a little New York, and it is good to see that film producer Allan Smith will do documentaries down here.
We can only hope this is the beginning of a complete cultural rebirth for this ever-expanding city.
