Life in prison an ‘overreach’
As a nurse, I know how substance abuse and selling and/or seeking illegal drugs, especially among the younger population, is likely to end badly. As a Cary resident and a mother, and having lost a brother in his teens to an auto accident, I mourn the tragic death of high school student Katie Burdick-Crow.
However, is it just me, or do others think it is an overreach to start the conversation of justice with talk of life imprisonment, or even the death penalty, for at least two of the four young people involved in her death?
