Spring break tournaments set

Seven Southwest Wake Athletic Conference baseball teams are staying in the Triangle for their spring break tournaments this weekend.
Five will participate in the Hilltop Invitational, hosted by schools in Orange and Durham counties, while two more will go to the Bobby Murray Invitational, hosted by Millbrook and Wakefield high schools in North Raleigh.
Falcons, Mustangs in Bobby Murray: The eight-team field is split into two pools: One will will play its first two games at Millbrook on Thursday and Friday; the other will play those games at Wakefield.
Green Hope is in the Millbrook pool, which also includes Person County, and will play Broughton at 4 p.m. Thursday and Millbrook at 4 p.m. Friday.
Middle Creek is in the Wakefield pool, which includes South Granville, and will play Wakefield at 7 p.m. Thursday and Wake Forest at 7 p.m. Friday.
On Saturday at Millbrook, the teams that finish last in each pool will play each other at 10 a.m., followed by the third-place teams at 1 p.m., the second-place teams at 4 p.m. and the championship game between the two first-place teams at 7 p.m.
Hilltop schedule: The Saturday lineup of games, and most of those on Friday, are yet to be determined, but the Thursday schedule for the 12th annual Hilltop Invitational is set.
At East Chapel Hill, Panther Creek plays West Forsyth at 1 p.m. Thursday, followed by Athens Drive against East Chapel Hill at 4 p.m. The teams flip opponents on Friday with Athens Drive and West Forsyth playing the 1 p.m. game and Panther Creek and East Chapel Hill playing at 4 p.m.
Other Thursday games are: Holly Springs vs. Orange, 7 p.m. (at Jordan High); Apex at Chapel Hill, 7 p.m.; Cary at Cedar Ridge, 7 p.m.
