Former national champion Eloheim Palma enjoyed a bounce-back season at his new university as he closed out his college wrestling career.
Palma (Cary class of 2009) qualified for the NCAA tournament at Campbell, which finished third in the Southern Conference Championship and and finished with an overall record of 24-14. The redshirt junior earned that qualification by placing second in the SoCon championships.
Palma wrestled his first four years at N.C. State before transferring. He ended the year ranked in the top 20 of NCAA heavyweights.
At Missouri, Boomer Boyd (Cary 2011) redshirted this past season.
Matt Williams (Cardinal Gibbons 2012) finished the season with a 6-7 record at North Carolina and now has an overall record of 13-20. His highest tournament finish was at the Citadel Open, where he was fourth.
Jake Reinemund (Holly Springs 2010), who wrestles for the Tar Heels after starting his career at Gardner-Webb, finished the season 0-4.
At Limestone College in South Carolina, Alex Battaglia (Middle Creek 2011) went 19-12 with four pins.
