The Chatham Artists Guild invites you to an art adventure on the first two weekends of December, the 22nd Annual Chatham Studio Tour.
This year’s tour features 47 artists who will open their homes and/or studios and invite one and all to come and see what they have been working on this year. Visitors will meet painters, sculptors, fiber artists, glass artists, jewelers, potters, and even gourd artists.
Tucked along country roads, in downtown Pittsboro, or in a fancy housing development, bright red triangles will mark stops on the tour, starting at 10 a.m. Dec. 6-7 and 13-14. An artists reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, in Building 2 at Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro, where a
Gallery Show the first weekend of the tour includes a piece of artwork from each artist on the tour. Thats an excellent place to start. You can pick up a Studio Tour brochure there, and the rest is easy. Take a look at the map and make a plan. You might choose a place where several artists are clustered, or you can pick a few artists whose work you are particularly drawn to, and go there first.
Never miss a local story.
Buying original works of art for your collection, or as a special gift, is an investment in your community and an enduring treat to those who will experience it every day.
Visit ChathamArtistsGuild.org for maps and photos of each artists' work. The colorful brochures with a map of the tour are also available at many local shops and eateries in the county and surrounding areas.
