City schools names administrator
She previously served as a principal with Durham Public Schools and Orange County Schools, as an exceptional children coordinator and assistant principal with the CHCCS and a counselor, coordinator and teacher with Guilford.
Leplin has a doctorate and two master’s degrees from UNC Greensboro. She also earned a master’s degree from N.C. A&T University and a bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University.

Bridge repairs could begin Thursday
The N.C. Department of Transportation has awarded a $1.1 million contract to Seminole Equipment Inc. of Tarpon Springs, Fla., to work on the bridges in Orange County as well as four in Alamance County.

Crews will repair any cracks in the concrete bridge support caps, then clean and paint the steel components with epoxy paint. The work is expected to extend the bridges’ lifespan by as much as 10 years.
