Police have arrested a suspect in a fatal stabbing Friday night on East Franklin Street.
Police say Charles Anthony Rhames, 25, formerly of Fayetteville, stabbed a man in the chest around 11:45 p.m. near University Presbyterian Church at 209 E. Franklin St.
The victim was taken to UNC Hospitals, where he later died, police said. The victim was not a UNC-Chapel Hill student, but his identity is being withheld until his family is notified, police said.
Rhames was taken into custody in Carrboro without incident and was being held Saturday in the Orange County Jail without bail, police said.

Chapel Hill police Sgt. Russ Woody said Rhames has not lived in the Fayetteville area for a while but has contacts in Durham.
