Orange County sheriff’s investigators wrapped up a month-long investigation this week by seizing 956 marijuana plants from a house on Old N.C. 86 South.
Richard Dylan Perry, 35, of 486 Walnut Branch Road, Chapel Hill, was charged with trafficking marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, manufacturing marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, investigators reported.
He is being held in the Orange County Detention Center under $450,000 bail. His next court hearing has been set for Monday.
Investigators searched the home at 5010 Old N.C. 86 South and found “an elaborate marijuana grow operation” inside. The plants were in different stages of development, they said, and they also found drug paraphernalia used to plant, grow, cultivate, process and package the marijuana. Perry was at the house when the search warrant was executed, investigators said.
