After meeting at the wedding of Kelly and John Waterman in 2014, Lauren Leigh Joyner of Chapel Hill, NC, and Stephen Donald Cook of Amagansett, NY, joyfully wed at the Chapel Hill Carriage House on June 3, 2017. Kelly Waterman of New Orleans, LA, the bride’s cousin, officiated the ceremony. John Waterman, the groom’s college friend, was best man. Sarah Davis Creech of New York City, NY, the bride’s college roommate, was matron of honor. David Petterson of Pittsburg, PA was the cellist. A reception was held at the Carriage House following the afternoon ceremony. The guests were treated to authentic North Carolina BBQ from Hillsborough BBQ and danced the night away to Carolina Beach Music, courtesy of DJ Don Evers. Leading up to the wedding, the couple had an engagement party in Winston-Salem, NC, courtesy of the bride’s aunt and uncle, Kathy and Kim Triplette. The bride’s cousins, Betty Dixon of Savannah, GA and Barbara Miller of Waycross, GA, held a bridal luncheon for Lauren on June 2nd at Provence in Carrboro, NC. The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party and out-of-town guests at the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill on the evening prior to the wedding.Lauren is the daughter of David and Bonnie Joyner of Chapel Hill, NC. Stephen is the son of Nicholas and Mary Cook, who reside in San Luis Obispo, CA. Lauren and Stephen plan to live in Raleigh, NC.
