Story telling

Ron Jones will tell stories for children from 10:30-11 a.m. at the Carrboro Century Center, 100 N. Greensboro St.

Freshstart

A Freshstart tobacco cessation class will meet from 2-3 p.m. at the Robert & Pearl Seymour Center, 2551 Homestead Road, Chapel Hill. The class meets for an hour per week for four weeks. Carrboro Farmers’ Market

The Carrboro Farmers’ Market is open from 3-6 p.m. Wednesdays in the Carrboro Town Commons, beside Town Hall at 301 W. Main St. Andrea Weigl will demonstrate pickling okra at 3 p.m. Food trucks will serve dinner at 6 p.m. A portion of proceeds will benefit the market’s scholarship fund for the Sustainable Agriculture Program at Central Carolina Community College.

Optimist Club

The Optimist Club of Chapel Hill meets at 5:30 p.m. on the first, second and third Wednesdays of the month at the Bob Evans restaurant, 5419 Chapel Hill Blvd., Durham. New members are welcome.

Open mic
