The Clayton Lions Club helped Boy Scout Nick Leedem, 16, earn his Eagle Award.
For his Eagle project, Leedem built a Distraction Center for Johnston Health in Clayton.
The Clayton Lions Club invited Leedem to a meeting where he explained the purpose of the Distraction Center. “The center will aid young kids in passing the time while waiting to see a doctor at the hospital,” he said. “It would be stocked with games and books to help pass the time and reduce the stress and worry associated with a medical center visit.”
The Clayton Lions Club donated $100 to help Leedem defray some of the cost of his project.
Never miss a local story.
He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 124 in Clayton.
