Plant and craft sales are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 11 and May 9 at the Main Street Community Garden in downtown Clayton.

Bike rides to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Johnston County will take place Saturday, April 25, at The Club of Flowers Plantation, 120 Flowers Parkway, Clayton. Here’s the registration schedule: 50-mile ride, 7 a.m.; 30-mile ride, 8 a.m.; and 15-mile ride, 9 a.m. The rides begin an hour after registration. The minimum amount to ride is $50; riders are encouraged to seek sponsors. A post-ride celebration, with lunch and a raffle, will follow. A raffle and silent auction to benefit Danny Johnson will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. April 11 at the Johnston County Agricultural Center, 2736 N.C. 210, Smithfield. The raffle prizes are $2,500, a 12-gauge shotgun, a grill, a boat and $250. Tickets are $20. The silent auction will offer a handgun, bookcase, shotgun, homemade cakes, gift baskets, cornhole board, custom woodworks and sports memorabilia. Johnson, a sheriff’s deputy, needs a liver transplant because of a genetic condition.

The 2015 Cure SMA Walk-n-Roll is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Smithfield Community Park on Booker Dairy Road. The event, now in its third year, raises money for a cure for spinal muscular atrophy, a genetic spinal disorder. It’s named in memory of Logan Moore, who died from the disorder at age 10 months.
