Why Belmont Abbey? “I like being in the Charlotte area and they have three teams instead of one. And all three of those teams play year-round. It really gives you a chance to improve your game.”
Notable: Nick was a key member of the Pirates’ regional championship squads in 2013, 2014 and 2015. … He played golf and hockey until the eighth grade, but the travel associated with hockey became too much to deal with so he went the golf route. … Since then he’s posted multiple regional junior tour event victories, including wins on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour and in Triangle Youth Golf Association events. … Nick’s best competitive round is a 69 and he tied for fifth in the NCHSAA state championships as a freshman. He has an albatross (double eagle) to his credit. It came on the first hole of the River View course at Riverwood. He holed out a five iron from 210 yards. … He wants to improve his game around the green and add some distance as he prepares for college golf. … Nick plans to study in a business-related field.
Former Corinth Holders coach Theresa Gale: “Nick is a player who really works hard. He’s always working on his swing. His short game is great and he’s a phenomenal putter. His length is only going to increase as he gets stronger and with his reprotriore of shots — flops, knock downs, you name it — his future in the game is really bright.”
