A 19-year-old man was charged Thursday with shooting out car windows with a BB gun, and a 65-year-old woman was charged with conspiracy and destroying evidence.
Russell Hernandez, who lives on Rolling Pines Avenue, was arrested after police went to a house in the 2600 block and searched it and a car, police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said.
Hernandez was accused of four counts of injury to property, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and with going armed to the terror of the public.
He was being held on $20,000 bail.
Antonia Barbosa, 65, of Rolling Pines Avenue, was charged with the felony of altering, stealing or destroying evidence and with misdemeanor conspiracy, Michael said.
Barbosa was released on a $3,000 unsecured bond.
Police said about 40 cars in various parts of the city were hit by BBs Tuesday and Wednesday.
A similar outbreak happened in Raleigh on Wednesday, but police have not made any connection.
