Police investigators have charged Christopher Antwan Ward Jr., 27, of Durham with murder in the death of a Raleigh man last month.
Ward was injured in the incident, police said in a release, which did not indicate whether he was in custody Monday evening.
Police found the body of George Beamon, 50, of Raleigh, in the 5000 block of N.C. 55 in Durham after responding to a reported shooting at Crossland Economy Studios shortly before 8 p.m. Nov. 27. He had died from an apparent gunshot wound.
The shooting does not appear to have been random, the release said.
An investigation is continuing.
There were 34 homicides in Durham as of Nov. 19, compared to 31 by the same time the year before.
