•Kashauna Elaine Pointer
of Durham has earned her Girl Scout Gold Award. For her project, Pointer organized a lupus support group in Durham. She is the daughter of Katrina E. Pointer and granddaughter of James and Mary Pointer. She is a graduate of Carolina Friends School and attends Davidson College. Pointer joined Girl Scouts in 2001 and was in Girl Scout Troop #1603 led by Vickie Pratt and Debra Duncan. In addition to Girl Scouting, Pointer is a black belt in Tae Kwan Do, plays volleyball, and is an accomplished singer.
